Sonya Houston
OWNER & EVENT COORDINATOR
Born and raised on the beautiful Mendocino Coast, I am no stranger to this area. My skills as a networker enable me to provide an abundance of resources for my clients. I was raised in an environment of hospitality and have learned to pay close attention to detail. I enjoy assisting my clients as we develop their wedding or special event ideas together. I am very active in the community and my first-hand knowledge of the area helps me discover the perfect location and provide expert services for my clients’ special day.
When I am not multitasking my events, I love all things outdoors, have a passion for cooking, tinkering around my home with my guy and 3 pups, and am insanely in love with my "other hat" as the volunteer coordinator at our local humane society!
Carol Sanders
ASSISTANT EVENT COORDINATOR
I have been working with Mendocino Weddings since 2007. I am the office manager and the organizer and “schedule keeper” of the coordination team. Yes, even the coordinators need a coordinator!
I have lived on the Mendocino coast since 1985. I have a strong background in organizing businesses, taking care of client contracts and arranging vendor appointments and site tours, all of which enables me to excel in event coordination.
When I’m not in the office, you’ll find me enjoying the great outdoors. My perfect day begins with a jog in the woods then coming home to my sweet little farm. When I’m not milking goats and collecting eggs, I’m having fun with my two adorable grandchildren in sunny San Diego.

ASSISTANT EVENT COORDINATOR
Danielle is known for her bubbly personality, her organizational skills, and her phenomenal gift of knowing what you need before you complete your sentence. She loves getting to know what makes her clients happy and she always exceeds their expectation with her "go the extra mile” attitude. When asked about her work experience, she says:
I've spent 3 years as a coordinator for Mendocino Weddings in addition to being a long-time resident here on the coast. I am no stranger to most venues and I pride myself on being a great problem solver wherever I am. I strive to fix a problem before anyone even notices the issue in the first place.
When I am not planning or assisting, I enjoy the outdoors, camping, hiking, fishing and spending time with my 3 sons.

A LA CARTE
We realize some couples would like planning assistance but it's just not in everyone's budget...we're passionate about celebrating and still want to make sure you have the absolute perfect wedding day. We've created these a la carte services so we can lend a hand where we can to help make that happen:
VENUE TOUR
The Mendocino coast isn't always easy to navigate - our little town loves to rely on word of mouth and half the time there's no cell service to power Google maps! It's part of why people love the area but can also be frustrating to our out-of-town couples. We have a large portfolio of properties and venues that we would love to show you. Let us know what you're looking for and we'll create a tour tailored to you. We'll show you locations and talk through event logistics so you can find the perfect spot for your big day!
$350 per day
DESIGN DAY
Let us save you some time and bring the vendors to you! Spend the day with us and we will introduce you to local cake bakers, florists, photographers, and caterers and offer you referrals for anyone else. We will also advise you on event rental needs and put together rental quotes. You will leave your Design Day with all those big planning 'to-do's' checked off your list!

CONSULTATIONS
One-on-one meeting or phone call with one of our event coordinators to provide you planning advice, wedding day suggestions, vendor referrals, or whatever you need help with for your celebration!
$100 p/h
*Minimum of one hour per session
We want to give you the absolute best wedding day experience and know planning a wedding is so much more than just day-of so we've created the Month-of Package for those couples who need just a little bit of extra help but would like to handle the planning process on their own.

Our Full Planning Package offers couples assistance and support during every step of the planning process and wedding day - from hiring vendors to cutting the cake, we'll be there.
Years of working in the event industry (and a whole lot of problem-solving, make-it-work, 'oh sh**' moments!) have given us the experience to keep your planning process stress-free. Planning a wedding requires a whole lot of time and legwork and we'd love to help you shoulder that load.
